There is no one bullet that performs all requirements and hunters have different opinions as to what they want.
We as hunters have a responsibility to put our quarry down quickly and humanely. So when professional hunters and cullers raised concerns that monolithic copper or bonded -core bullets expand but do not break up resulting in animals occasionally running on slightly misplaced shots, we applied our minds.
In keeping with Viper Bullet’s dedication to green hunting and working against the documented dangers of lead bullets the design criteria was to have a bullet that retained around 70% of its original weight. The shank will allow deep straight line penetration while the ogive or frangible section will break up into reasonably large pieces that become secondary projectiles — penetrating on their own to increase the trauma area and improve instantaneous and humane death of the animal.
The result is an accurate brass bullet with reduced friction in the barrel, minimal meat damage, undeniably deadly and one of the best priced products on the market.
